How To Avoid Jet Lag And Enjoy Your Vacation
Jet lag is that feeling that you get when you step off the plane, and within hours just feel like sleeping for days! It is a common setback that includes nasty side effects such as exhaustion, dry skin, dehydration, muscle tension and time confusion. However, there are some easy ways to help combat this pesky illness.
* Avoid alcohol during your flight, as it will only add to you feeling tired and increases dehydration. Although, alcohol is commonly used to calm the nerves before and during a flight, it is not a good idea.
* Keep hydrated during and directly after the flight. The water will not only help with avoiding dehydration, but will go along way to reduce chances of muscle fatigue.
* While you are on the plane set your watch time for the area you are flying too. Pay close attention to the time and if your flight is during your destinations’ night hours, try and sleep. This will help your body adjust to its’ new time schedule.
* Do not be afraid to use ear plugs and eye covers on the plane. This ensures that you will be able to sleep for as long as possible and will help create a night time sleep experience.
* Keep your feet elevated on the flight to reduce muscle tension.
* Shower when you arrive to help wake you up and avoid napping until it is actually time to sleep.
* Stay up as late as possible the first night if your trip will involve a lot of late nights. It’s better to adjust your sleep as quickly as possible. (more…)
